The Lookout Chattanooga April- 11th 1921 My dear Mr. Hill: I am just in receipt of your letter of Tuesday. You can keep the book as long as you need it. I know that it is safe in your care. I wrote the Howard story and I have a great deal of data in addition to what I used. However I can not recall Samuel Howard who married Martha Lewis as of Benjamin Howard's line. You know there were two Benjamin Howards, so far as I know not related. I will unearth every thing I have on Howard and write you. The Donelson family article I had ready for my second Volume, but the author Mrs. J. R. Stephenson, 5125 Worth St Dallas Texas requested the manuscript in order to extend it. She is not doing her work for pay of any description, and will be delighted to oblige me with any information she may have. Write her and say I asked you to do so etc. Or you can if you prefer wait until May 15th when she will return the mass to me. On the whole I would say write as she seems to know the Donelson data root and branch. Col.King has the King data, promising to send me in every mail. I think I will have to work on it to get it shaped for publication, so I am begging for it. I am quite sure it has Colonial records and I know that I has Revolutionary records. I thank you deeply for the William Hill data for which I breathed a prayer of thankfulness. I will promise that no one else shall have it. I have not seen Mrs. Cory. If that matter should fail however at this time and you are willing you can do some work for me at different times, checking it off at what price suits you to come to the same amount. Your knowledge would frequently help me and you could some times help me in just arranging data that I have on hand. For instance if the King stuff comes in very bad shape you might help with that and at the same time find what you want to know. The Donelson stuff is perfect and wonderful.
