		In Mr. Merrill's absence, I take the liberty

of answering your communication addressed to him under date

of April 14th, which had evidently been mislaid prior to

his departure.  In answer to the request expressed in your

note, I beg to advise that the officer with whom you should

correspond is the Registrar General, who is Doctor Arthur

D. Adams, Trinity College, Hartford, Conn.

		If I can be of further assistance, please do

not hesitate to call upon me.
