(Coat of Arms) F E B R U A R Y 2 1 9 2 0 Dear Mr. Pinckney:- Herewish I am returning Mr. Hill's letter. The list of members I have not, but this, I am supposing, you can forward him. As for the ancestors mentioned: Major Samuel Lane would be eligible if he saw actual service in war; Colonel John Frogg, according to the information given, would be eligible; William Strother would be eligible if proof could be educed of his having been a burgess, but the burgesses from King George for the date given were Nicholas Smith and William Thornton; Captain Anthony Savage would, again, not be eligible unless he was actually engaged in one of the Colonial wars. I would appreciate it should you forward this information to Mr. Hill, along with the list of members, -- and am Yours faithfully, James Branch Cabell Dumbarton Grange Dumbarton, Virginia ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
