Harriman, Tennessee, March 4, 1920. Mr. James Branch Cabell, Dumbarton, Va. Dear Mr. Cabell- Further regarding your letter of Feb. 2nd addressed to Mr. C. C. Pickney, Secy. Va. Society Colonial Wars, in which you say Colonel John Frogg, would make one eligible for membership. As to the others I will have to search further for more proof of their services. I am enclosing a list of ancestors with services, some of which have been verified by the General Society of Colonial Wars. Please look over this list and advise me which ones would be acceptable to the Virginia Society as supplementals, as the application for membership will be on the services of Col. Frogg. Also advise if it is required that an applicant be known personally by his endorser, or if letters of recommendation as to the character of the applicant & etc. would be acceptable. Thanking you for a prompt reply and thanking you for any assistance you may give me, I am, Yours very truly, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
