Harriman, Tennessee. March 3, 1920. Miss Idelle Keyes, 14 Charles River Square, Boston, Mass. Dear Madam:- Please pardon my long delay in answering your letter of Jan. 29th, enclosing information asked for. I am enclosing a list of 17 Mass. ancestors, which I would like to know what your charges would be to give references by volume and page of those that could be used for Colonial Dames papers. There may possibly be one or two of them that are not alright for papers of that kind. Most of the services of these men have been verified by the Mass. Society of Colonial Wars, but I want the references for Colonial Dame papers, which I hope to have my daughter (now 15 years of age) use some day. You see I want them in shape so that if I should drop off, that she could fill out her application papers with out any trouble, should she be for- tunate enough to receive an invitation to join the Society, She has Southern ancestry that has been approved by the States where these ancestors lived, which she can also use, but I am especially anxious to leave these papers in the proper shape, if I do not live to see her become a member of the Colonial Dames of America. You will note that I have left a wide margin on the left hand of the sheets, where the references can be put in. Please advise your charges, and I will let you know what I wish done, thanking you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter, I am, Yours very truly, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
