Harriman, Tennessee, Nov. 2, 1920. Mr. W. E. Parham, Maryville, Tenn. Dear Mr. Parham:- Your letter of the 3rd received. I immediately went to see Roe Goddard about the mantel, and he tells me it is yet in the L & N freight station here. The R. R. Co., would not accept it for shipment without it being crated and so far he had not found any one to do the work. I know from what he says that he has been busy and neglected to do any thing about it, but he promised me he would have it done right away, and bring me the B/L. If I can get my hands on it, rest assured that I will forward it to you. I will wait a few days longer before I go after him again about the crating and shipment, but I feel sure he will get it ready pretty soon. I am sorry you cant help me with that Eaton line, but you know I am used to disappointments in matters of this kind. Have you ever got Mrs. Parham's Virginia ancestors straightened out so you could send me to look up her Colonial ancestors in the Colonial Virginia Register, I have? How do things look for the League of Nations, to you, now? With kindest regards and best wishes, I am, Your friend, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
