Harriman, Tennessee, March 28, 1921. Mr. W. E. Parham, 218 Bryan St., Maryvlle, Tennessee. My dear Mr. Parham:- Your letter of Feb. 15th received and should have been answered sooner, but as usual, I have been busy. First let me thank you for the Ford names from your pension list. I sent for the two records and one of them, John Ford mentioned his daughter Mary Renfro, great grandmother of Mrs. Jack Tarwater. This John Ford married in Fluvanna Co., Va., Elizabeth England. He was born in Albemarle County, Va., 1762. I have not found any thing more on the Eaton line, but will keep an eye open for this. I regret that I had started some investigations in which I am using the Waddell's Annals of Augusta County Va., when your letter came so cannot send you the book yet, however when I can, I will be glad to let you have it. I hope the ladies are progressing nicely with their D.A.R. chapter in Maryville. Be sure to go to the Lawson McGhee Library when you are in Knox- ville, and go to the McClung Room. It is a very fine Collection and I know you will just revel in those wonderful books. I of course, know so little about what constitutes a good collection, would hesitate to say just how good it is, but I have not asked for a single book that they did not have. I know you have work by this time and that you are well and happy. Always your friend, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
