Harriman, Tennessee, Oct. 12, 1920. Mrs. W. E. Wheelock, 238 South Prospect St., Chattanooga, Tenn. My dear Mrs. Wheelock:- I am so sorry that I did not see you and have a talk about family history while you were in Harriman, but Mrs. Dodson told me she thought you were going to stay over to-day and I hoped to see you then, so I was much disappointed when I learned you left this morning. For some time past I have been gathering data for a history of the Kendrick and allied families and I am trying to get data of the Howard and allied families for my cousin, Mrs. Jack Tarwater (Ava Howard) of Rockwood. Both she and Mrs. Dodson say your Renfro ancestry is the same. Mrs. Dodson says you have a verified Renfro line in the D. A. R., and I am writing to know if you wont give me a copy of your D.A.R. paper on this line? If it is too much trouble to copy this paper for me, please give me a letter to the Registrar General, N. S. D. A. R., Washington, D. C. and I will have it copied by her office force. I regret very much to ask you for this assistance, but so far I have been unable to get any data whatever on the Renfro family, and I will appreciate any help you can give me. If I can be of any assistance whatever don’t hesitate to call on me. Thanking you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter, I am, Cordially yours, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
