Virginia State Library RICHMOND, VA. ALL LETTERS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE LIBRARIAN May 28, 1921 Mr. C. K. Hill, Harriman, Tenn. My dear Sir: I regret very much indeed to say that the entry to which you refer in your letter of May 26 does not give any in- formation in reference to Jacob Kendrick's wife, children, place of birth, marriage or anything of that kind. It only gives the in- formation that he was a private in a certain company at a certain time in the Revolutionary War. Nor do we have anywhere else the information that you wish. Our records of Revolutionary soldiers are in ninety-nine cases out of a hundred bare military records giving no family information whatever. Very truly yours, (signed) H. R. McIlwaine H. R. McILWAINE, State Librarian. ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved. Archivist: Transcription and scan by G.
