October 23, 1919-- My dear Mr. Hill,-- I am exceedingly sorry to have no more report to make than enclosed pages. The Pittsylvania records contained very scant notice of the Russell family, and the inference that I make from my observation is that the Russell family proper lived over in Halifax, an adjoining county, and later some of the family moved over into Pittsylvania [page two] The census of 1767 showed there were none living here at that time, but that George Russell owned land here. I have not yet looked into the Randolph matter but will do so. Again regretting that the records disclosed so little of interest to you, (-and I would suggest that you look into the Halifax records) and thanking you for your patronage, I am, Very sincerely yours, Mrs. N.
