Harriman, Tennessee, August 4. 1919. Mrs. N.E. Clement, Chatham, Va. My dear Mrs. Clement:- In reply to your letter of July 15th, I am enclosing check for $10.00 for a search of the Pittsylvania County records for data of George Russell. I am enclosing a short sketch about him which gives about all I know of him. Please be sure to return these papers. I am especially interested in the names of his parents and for Colonial records or services for his father, father-in-law or any of the connection, that would do for Colonial Dame papers. I have Revolutionary records for George Russell and of course want them for his father, father-in-law & etc. Please give the line of descent through his wife’s family as far back as you can. You know I do not know the maiden name of his wife Elizabeth. I feel sure you will succeed in giving me all that is possible to find from the records there. I also wish you to see if you can find out any thing about William Randolph through the deeds in your county. I have had the wills searched already. Randolphs lived in that county at one time. If there are any extra charges for this work, please advise. Thanking you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter, I am, Yours very truly, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
