Mrs. Thomas Day, 1520 Central Ave., Memphis, Tenn. My dear Mrs. Day:- I have your letter of the 29th regarding my election to membership in the Order of the Crown, for which please accept my thanks. I am writing to say that at the request of Miss Mary Williard Hinton, Midway Plantation, Raleigh, N. C., who prepared my papers for the Order of the Crown, I sent her my initiation fee of $15.00 on Sept. 22, 1924. Why this fee has not been paid, I do not know, however I feel sure some mistake has been made. I am writing Miss Hinton today and I feel sure you will hear from her at once regarding this matter. If you do not hear soon, won’t you please let me know? I wish this fee paid at once so if you do not hear let me know and I will send another check. I also wish to purchase my insignia and will thank you to let me know what I must do to get the proper permit. Thanking you again for your letter and for your prompt attention to these matters, I am, Cordially yours, Mrs. Allen Russell Davis, 402 Morgan Street, Harriman, Tennessee.
