CO-OPERATIVE PURCHASING COMMITTEE -------OF THE----- STATE HOSPITALS AND TRAINING SCHOOLS DR. J. PERCY WADE, CHAIRMAN, SPRING GROVE STATE HOSPITAL, DR. F. W. KEATING, SEC'Y & TREAS., SPRINGFIELD STATE HOSPITAL, MR. R. A. ATKINSON, CHIEF CLERK CROWNSVILLE STATE HOSPITAL, NO. 7 CLAY STREET EASTERN SHORE STATE HOSPITAL, ROSEWOOD STATE TRAINING SCHOOL, MARYLAND TRAINING SCHOOL FOR BOYS BALTIMORE, MD. July 30th, 1920. Mr. C. K. Hill, Harriman, Tenn. My dear Mr. Hill: I am enclosing herein the "TRADER NOTES". which you so generously sent me some time ago to copy and file with my LANE Genealogical data. I am truly ashamed that I have not returned these to you before now, but at the time you sent them I remember you told me you were in no particular hurry to have them back, just so I did eventually return them to you. I trust you will not gauge my appreciation of this courtesy by the length of time it has taken me to return them. You were so much more prompt in return my papers to me. I am glad to say that I have made exact duplicates of these notes and am sure that they will give me additional "clues". Some of the points I feel I have already cleared up, but others will have to wait until I can get at it again. I am hoping some day that "my ship will come in, or my oil well gush" and then I can have enough to live on comfortably and have time for the further pursuit of such intensely interesting and engrossing subjects as genealogical research and study. At the time I did what I did, I was not employed, but was in Baltimore at the time under treatment at one of the hospitals here and employed my "spare time" at the time, which was a plenty, in gathering these genealogical data. Now, I thank God, I am well and am pursuing the more material things of life in "meat and bread", which I find not so interesting but certainly more necessary. I am leaving for a month's vacation the first of next week. However, should you have occasion to write me, all mail will be forwarded to me promptly. With continued interest in you and your genealogical search, I am, Most cordially, R. A. Atkinson ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
