Harriman, Iennessee, April 30,1920. Mr. R. A. Atkinson, 221 N. Liberty St. Baltimoree, Md. Dear Sir:- Attached you will find a chart of my line of descent from Maj. Samuel Lane of Anne Arundel County Md. I am getting ready my application papers to join the Society of Colonial Wars, and wish to know if you have any records that would do for such papers, other than the services of Maj. Saml. Lane? As you will note I do not know the maiden name of Sarah, wife of Richard Lane and I have nothing on the allied families back of Sarah Russell. Have you the names of the parents & etc of Esther Bibber, Sarah, and Pettitia Tidings, and if so have you any records of services for any of thom that would do for Colonial Wars or Colonial Dame papers? I understand you have estahlished the connection between our family and the family in England. How far back do your records in England go, and what are your charges for the lino back from Maj. Saml. Lane? Please let me hear from you regarding just what you have in the way of records and what your oharges for them are. Yours very truly, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved. Archivist: Transcription and scan by G. Anne Sloan
