Tallahassee, Fla. March 24th My dear Miss Kingsbury:- I have just received your card, and write to say that all of my information when getting up my papers many years ago to join the Colonial Dames was furnished me by my sister—Miss Julia Robertson whose address is 417 West Trade St., Charlotte N. C. I have never seen the Reese book you referred to but know that we had been written by a Miss Mary Reese (page two) of Alabama, and my cousin Miss Margaret Rankin of Charlotte, also a descendant of David Reese, who knew this lady personally, might be able to help you. Several years ago I met here Mr. Pope Reese of Pensacola, Florida, who told me that the Miss Mary Reese who wrote the book was his aunt, and failing to get the information in Charlotte, you might write to him. My sister, Miss Robertson has one of those books where you write up (page three) your ancestry, and I know she will be glad to tell you what she has on the Reese page. Am sorry not to have all this information myself, but as my sister joined the Dames just before I did, I lazily copied what she had. Trusting you will be able to get the desired data, I remain Cordially yours, Elizabeth Robertson Brenard (Mrs. E. M. Brenard) Charlotte was my old home, but I married and came here to live many years ago. ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
