My dear Mrs. Hitzing:- On account of the serious illness of
my Mother, it is impossible for me to attend the meeting of
the Daughters of Founders and Patriots on the 19th.

I am so sorry to miss the meeting as I am deeply interested
in the work and had hoped to be present at the organization
and election of officers.

Wont you please extend for me, cordial greetings to the
other members and tell them why it is impossible for me to
be present?

I shall be anxious to hear about the meeting and just what
is done, so would like to ask that you let me know as soon
as you can.
