402 Morgan Street, Harriman, Tennessee, September 11, 1929 Mrs. Willis Hitzing, Cherrywold, Whitehaven, Tennessee. My dear Mrs. Hitzing:- Please pardon my seeming neglect of your letter of the 28th August, which has not been answered on account of an illness in my family. I joined the Texas Society, Daughters of Founders and Patriots, about a year ago, as there was no organization in Tennessee, and the friend who proposed my name lived in Texas and is a member of that State Society. I know nothing about how to proceed to secure a transfer from the Texas Society to membership at large, or whatever it is that would have to be done, in order for me to qualify as a member in Tennessee but if you know what will have to be done, and know how to go about doing whatever is necessary, I have no objections to your doing so. I think perhaps it would be better for you to let me know fully, just what would have to be done, and let me decide what I think is best, before doing any thing definite. What do you think? I will be glad to hear further from you regarding this matter. With kind regards, I am, Cordially yours, Mrs. Allen Russell Davis. nhd-k ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
