R. B. EVINS E. B. JACK EVINS & JACK Attorneys at Law GREENSBORO, ALA. May 31st, 1921. Mrs. C. K. Hill, Harriman, Tenn., My dear Mrs. Hill, I have your letter of the 25th. inst., asking some information as to the early history of the Jack family. I will have to admit that my information on this subject is indeed meager. I find however, among my books a pamphlet, which was gotten out some years ago by Miss Fannie Jack of Vicksburg, Miss. and I am sending this to you under separate cover. When you are through with it, I am going to ask you to return it to me, since it is the only copy I have. I do not pretend to say that all of Miss Jack’s data is absolutely correct, but it occurred to me, that from this sketch you might get some addresses and write for more detailed information. There is a Mrs. VanLandingham now living in Charlotte N. C. who, I believe is conversant with the early history of the family, but unfortunately, I do not recall her given name, nor have I her present address. Very Sincerely Yours, (signed) Edwin S.
