(handwritten in upper left corner) James Reese of Jeff. Co. Harriman, Tennessee, Feb. 16, 1921. Miss Mary S. Kingsbury, 211 Fifth Ave., Wilminton, N. C. My dear Miss Kingsbury:- Your letter of the 11th and Reese notes received. I am at a loss to know about James Reese descending from Rev. Thomas Reese of S.C., and for the time being, I cannot find out, however I hope to soon, and will let you know. Just let the matter rest, after you have gone into Mrs. Nelson’s papers, if you do not find what we want. I am sorry you have not heard from Dr. Tyler, but hope you will soon. I too am sorry my sisters Application paper has not been sent to you, but understand the situation. The lady who invited my sister, has had a death in her family, and then the Chairman of her local Committee has been away for a number of weeks, hence the delay. There is nothng to do but wait. Many thanks for your kindnesses. Cordially yours, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
