Harriman, Tennessee, June 16, 1921. My dear Miss Kingsbury:- Thank you very much for your letter of June 4th and the information about the offices held by Samuel Martin, Hugh Porter & etc. I know I have data enough for the Hugh Porter papers, but am not sure about the others, yet. I am sorry I can't tell you any thing about my sister’s application slip. The Tenn. Society had a called meeting in Knoxville on Thursday June 2nd , but I do not know whether they transacted any business or not. I have not seen Mrs. ? for several weeks, so do not know whether she knows any thing about what they did, or not. Probably nothing will be done about the matter before the new term begins in the Fall, even if my sister's paper was acted upon at this called meeting. They seem to be a very slow acting organization at Nashville, but I am sure they are doing the best they can under the circumstances. If it is as hot there as in Harriman to-day, I wouldn’t blame them if they never had another meeting. I thank you so much for the Boone clipping, which is of such interest to me on account of the relationship of my young niece, to Daniel Boone. She is too young to appreciate what thing of this kind mean, but I hope to have all her lines well establish for her by t he time she is old enough to be a Colonial Dame. The Jack data is very interesting, but of no assistance yet, however I hope it will be some time. I am still working on the Reese line trying to get proof of the parentage of James Reese and the connection between he and David Reese. I am sure he is a descendant of David Reese, but have not yet found proof of the connection. I have been told James Reese’s mother was Mollie (Mary) Mackey, sister of Violet Mackey the wife of Hugh Porter of Orange County. If this is true,a then Elizabeth Brown (wife of James Reese) and James Reese were closely related, as Hugh & Violet (Mackey) Porter were the grandparents of Elizabeth Brown Reese. If I could find some one who has data on the Mackey family, I might be able to get the proof from their records. Please again accept my thanks for your many favors. I hope some tme to be in position to return a few of these favors. With kindest regards and every good wish for you and yours, I am, Cordially yours, (C. K.
