Whitehaven, Tenn,Sept.16,1929 My dear Mrs. Davis ; I appreciate very much your reply regarding your transfer from Texas to the Tennessee chapter of Daughters of Founders and Patriots, and am so delighted to know that you will do so. There are two others living in Chattanooga who will transfer from Georgia and one in Memphis belonging to the National Society, and as soon as the five applications which I have sent on have been accepted, we will be able to form the Tennessee chapter. I am enclosing the By-Laws which tell one how to transfer, and have marked the section for you. Am sorry that I can not effect the change for you, but that the member must do herself. The dues which were paid to the Texas chapter will still be good until time to pay them again on the first of April, and then they will be sent from this state, so there is no additional fee for a transfer. Thanking you very much for your co-ooperation and hoping to meet you personally in the near future, Sincerely, (Mrs. Willis) Bessie Hitzing ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
