211 South 5th Ave. Wilmington, N. C. February 11, 1921 Dear Mr. Hill:- I have been disappointed in not having heard from Dr. Tyler before now. I do not know what the trouble is, but I fear he has no information that will help us. If I should hear from him later will let you know. I am enclosing about all I have found in regard to David Reese. (page two) I think South Carolina would be the place to find what you want as I think they must be the descendants of Rev. Thomas Reese, son of David. I happen to have some few S.C. books, but can find nothing in them to help in the matter. At least a half dozen ladies have used the services of David Reese in the N.C. Society—but all from this state used the Reese-Sharpe line or Polk and Jasper. (page three) I believe however, that the one who used the Reese-Jasper line was from Ala.—The Polks and Jaspers intermarried. Mrs. Nelson of Miss. used the David Reese line last Nov. and as soon as I can have access to her paper, will see what the line is. I believe the Rev. Dr. Wilson of Charleston S.C. is genealogist of the S.C. Society, and he may perhaps be able to tell something of interest. I think he is a Presbyterian minister. If I can get his address I will write to him. In the meantime I should like to know what you think about James Reese descending from the Rev. Thomas Reese. I am sorry your sister’s Application has not yet been sent to us. With best wishes, Cordially yours, Mary Sumner Kingsbury ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
