My dear Mrs. Hill:- In the South Carolina Eligibility list I found that “Rectors of duly established parishes and Huguenot Pastors prior to 1750” are accepted as Colonial ancestors. I do not think that Rev. Thomas Reese would be accepted by the S. C. Society as he was born, I think, in 1742. In using S.C. services we have to follow (page two) their eligibility test; in N. C. I believe, I have already sent you the services of Hugh Porter of Orange Co. Will get Mrs. ?som's paper to file as soon as I can. Surry Co. was formed in 1770 from Rowan. Let me know if you have received a letter and some data &c. from me, and also if I can do anything else for you. Hope you have gotten some help from what I have found. Am sorry I have not been able to get just what you desire. Your sister’s application slip has not come yet. Don’t hesitate to write to me for anything you want. I am always glad to help you. With best wishes— Hastily yours, Mary Sumner Kingsbury. May 13, 1921. ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
