211 South 6th Ave. Wilminton, N. C. JUNE 4TH, 1921. Dear Mr. Hill:- Just a few lines to tell you that the offices I sent to you, held by James Mackay, William Brown, Samuel Martin, David Reese and Hugh Porter are all eligible in the North Carolina Society of the Colonial Dames, but it is necessary for you (page two) to have records to show that they or their ancestors were in America as early as 1750. If I remember correctly you mentioned in one of your letters that Joseph Brown was the son of William Brown, who died in 1757. If this is true the William Brown who was on the Com. of Safety of Surry County Sept 1775 was probably a brother of Joseph. We did not have our annual meeting of the (page three) C. D. Society in Mary as usual on account of the Biennial Council at Washington, but it will be on next Monday, May 6th. This will be the last meeting of the season, unless we have a special meeting to transact any business that may happen to be left over. I am sorry not to have your sister’s application before we close. I have examined about 43 Pedigree papers since Jan. 1st besides a (page four) number of Application slips. I did not intent for you to send the Jack papers back as I do not need them. I have another type written copy and Hunter's? sketches(*). In fact whenever I send you data, do not return it unless I request it. With best wishes— Very cordially yours, Mary Sumner Kingsbury. (*"Hunter's Sketches (of western North Carolina…" by C. L.
