My dear Mr. Hill:-

   Your letter of the 24” inst. received.  William Hill, of
whom you write was a Lieutenant in the 1st Regiment North
Carolina Continental Infantry, and as such, you his lineal descendant is entitled to membership in the North Carolina
Society of the Cincinnati, under the Rule of 1854.

   If you wish to avail yourself of this right, I shall be glad to send you an application for membership o fill out and return to me.
