My dear Mr. Hill:- Your letter of the 30” ulto. reached me today and I am enclosing your application for you to sign and return to me, Please fill out the blanks on the first page; in giving the names of the ancestresses, give their maiden names. If you will send me all the data you have about the descendants of Lieut. Wm. Hill, I shall make out the chart on the inside covers, after you have returned the application to me. If you are married I should like to have the names of your wife, the date of your marriage, and the names and dates of birth of your children. Also give me the names of your brother and sisters, and their husbands and wives. The record of William Hill, that he was made Lieutenant of the 1st Regiment of the North Carolina Continental Infantry, is taken from the “Historical Register of Officers of the Continental Army” by F. B. Heitman. An endowed membership under the Rule of 1854 is $250.00 and a Life Membership is $100., you can take either of them which you prefer. In any case there are no annual dues or other expenses in the North Carolina Society of the Cincinnati. I should be glad to give you any other information, which you may wish.
