W. CHAMPLIN ROBINSON, PRESIDENT WM. K. BARTLETT, VICE-PRESIDENT JOHN C.DAVES, SECRETARY THE TRUSTEES OF THE SHEPPARD AND ENOCH PRATT HOSPITAL 212-214 CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, BALTIMORE, MD. February 28, 1921 My dear Mr. Hill:- In answer to your letter of the 26” inst. received this morning I am enclosing you herewith the application blank for Mr. Polk Tarwater, which after you have filled it and had it signed and endorsed, please return it to me, so that it can be acted upon by our Standing Committee in advance of our annual meeting, which will take place at Greensboro on April 23”, and which I hope very much that you will be able to attend. Mr. Tarwater has either the option of endowing his membership by having $250. or paying a life membership fee of $100., which payment is however credited toward the endowment of the membership. I am mailing you today by registered mail the booklet by Judge Smith on Col. Thomas Sumter, which you have kindly allowed me to enjoy; I wonder if after you are through with it, could it be returned to the Society for file with the papers of Mr. Polk Tarwater, for in that way the Society would have for its use in any publications, the history of his propositus, Thomas Sumter. I hope that this will find you well and that I may have the pleasure of meeting you personally before long. Sincerely yours, John C.
