Harriman, Tennessee, Nov. 4, 1918. Mr. John C. Daves, V.P., 214 Chamber of Commerce Baltimore, Md. My dear Mr. Daves:- Your letter of the 1st enclosing application blank, received, for which please accept my thanks. I have a complete list of the descendants of William Hill, including his brothers and sisters, their husbands and wives, some of their children and a very full list of other generations. These lists are not at hand just now, so I cannot fill out the papers at the present. Can you sent me another application blank? I would like to keep a duplicate of my application paper. I would also like to have a copy of the Rule of 1854, the By-Laws of the N.C. Society, list of State and National Officers, and any other data showing just what the Society is doing. As stated in my last letter, I have never know that my ancestor William Hill was a Lieutenant in the Continental Army. The only services I have found are; Member of the Provincial Congress at Hillsboro and Chaplain in the American Army at the Battle of Guildford Court House. Are you sure Lieutenant William Hill, is the same man? I know it is quite likely this is the same man, as I have not made any search for his services in the Revolutionary War. Thanking you in advance for your attention to this matter, I am, Sincerely yours, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
