Harriman, Tennessee. Dec. 19, 1918. Mr. John C. Daves, V.P., 214 Chamber of Commerce, Baltimore, Md. My dear Mr. Daves:- Thank you very much for your letter of Nov. 7th, which should have been answered sooner, but I have been very busy and have not had time to go into matters of this kind. Of course you know this is a busy season as well as the rush of after War affairs and I do not know just when I can get the data for chart of my application papers ready. How much time am I allowed for filing my application? Under the Rule of 1854 would a cousin of mine (same relation as I am) be eligible to the N.C. Society of the Cincinnati, as a collateral descendant of Gen. Thomas Sumpter, who lived at one time in N.C. but died in S.C.? Thanking you in advance for your attention to these matters, I am, Sincerely yours, CKHG/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005.
