application paper, which I hope will please you, for it
is quite “the berries”

Please sign at the bottom of the 1st page, and have Uncle
Polk sign the first reference blank on last page.  Please
ask him to sign his full name  James Polk Tarwater.

Please return the paper to me and I will forward to the
President of the N.C. Society of the Cincinnati to be
filed.  Don’t think they will act on this application
before next April, but they requested me to file the
application as soon as possible.

I was sorry not to be able to get a lower berth for your
friend, but sent the upper berth and rail road tickets on
to John Killibrew, Glen Mary, Tenn., yesterday afternoon
by special delivery mail.  The tickets were $9.17
