My dear Mr. Hill:-
   I am in receipt today of your letter of the 2i2 (21st)
inst.  It is not very satisfactory as to the services of
Lieut. William Randolph, but we may be able to work that
out satisfactorily between now and our meeting next April,
where I hope to see you and your kinsman; meanwhile you
had better make out the application and its chart, and
send it back to me to put on file here.
