Harriman, Tennessee, Dec. 7, 1921. Mr. Morgan P. Robinson, Secy., 113 South Third St., Richmond, Va. My dear Mr. Robinson:- Your letter of the 4th received today for which please accept my thanks. Since writing you on the 1st, I have come to the conclusion that maybe it would be better for me to withdraw my application papers, owing to the misunderstanding about the letters of recommendation. I had, what I thought was a thorough understanding about the matter before I filed my application. I do not want you or any one connected with your Society to be caused any embarrassment, neither would I like to have my application turned down, so I am writing to say that I would like to turn the matter over to you, to do as you think best, if you will do this for me. I regret more than I can say that this misunderstanding has come up, and I hope you understand my position. Thanking you very much for past favors, I am, Cordially yours, CKH/K ================================================== Transcription copyright © RoaneTNHistory.org 2005. All rights reserved.
